Happy 4th, America!

It’s July and Another Birthday
for Our Great Nation

Here we are already heading into July, just past the halfway point for year 2023! Wow, we are seriously flying through this year, but maybe that’s a good thing. Moving forward is always better...

As we approach our nation’s 247th year old birthday, all I can say is let’s keep our nation great by celebrating in the spirit of everything American. And do it with family, friends, and neighbors all with that same spirit of love of country, our USA.

And speaking of love, well, we do love our models, yes, we do. So, with that said, we’re offering you another look at one of our favorites, our July 2022 MODEL in the Middle, Alice Antoinette. She and David decided to do a little photo shoot in his studio using MECÉ’s version of wardrobe appropriate attire while doing some wonderful photographs of Alice appearing to just take it easy. So, please enjoy Another Look at Alice to kick off this July issue.

Following Alice is an article on how to photograph what will be this month’s most talked about product, fireworks! Our Daphne Doettger shares her secrets on how to best capture fireworks displays in your area with a nice little how-to titled, Going Out With a Bang!

It was in our January 2022 issue that we offered an interview with 7-time Grammy winning producer, Malik Yusef. Being able to track him down and hold him long enough to get that done was a friend of David’s, a singer/songwriter by the name of Melanie Stringer, known professionally as Ella.

We decided to turn the tables a bit with this month’s Q&A-7 interview and get to know more about this beautiful artist, Ella, by having her answer our seven questions herself. Oh, but there’s more, but bear with us a while longer before we tell you about that. Call it an added surprise.

As you know, each month we offer up one model to own the centermost portion of our magazine along with a very special title, MODEL in the Middle. And as you also know, all our models are special in many more ways than just their visual appeal. So, it is with this month’s MODEL in the Middle, Ms. Michaela Taylor.

The rather remarkable bit of background about our July MITM, Michaela, is that she is on the autism spectrum while also working in that environment professionally. And by doing so, working toward providing better therapeutic opportunities for those people who also share those traits.

So, not only is she gorgeous, sexy, and an incredible model in her own right, but she is also in a special place dealing with the autism spectrum in a very positive light. We love the fact our women are beyond the beauty ideal in such a caring and intellectual way. And that we’re able to share them with you here in MECÉ.

Miami entered the world of F1 racing last year with their Grand Prix. This year marks their second go-round of participating in that prestigious (and incredibly expensive) sport of open wheel racing by doing the Miami Grand Prix, year two.

Racing enthusiast and extreme car nut, Jeany Zhao, took it upon herself (with a friend) to become an attendee and get a real feel for what it’s like to attend the Miami Grand Prix. She shares her thoughts on just what it takes to deal with the heat, humidity, and various hurdles one must battle in order to attend that race. You can catch it all in, The Trials and Tribulations of Attending Miami’s F1 Race.

As you read earlier, our Q&A-7 is with singer and songwriter, Ella. Well, beyond being a talented artist as singer, songwriter, actress, et al, she is also quite lovely. Something our leader, David Mecey caught from the first moment they met several years ago. Their friendship led to various photo shoots, many to go along with her music releases as covers, but others just for them. We share a few of those special pictures in a pictorial simply titled, Ella.

As always, we close out an issue with something from David Mecey’s living his life. With most of that life devoted to his love of photography. Which we must note began far before digital was even in any camera designer’s dreams and when all photography was done on film. With one of those film types so famous a song was even written about it! But it wasn’t an easy film to use and caused many photographers to hate it. But then, there were others who learned to deal with its nuances and loved the quality it offered their photographs. David tells you about that film called Kodachrome.

That’s our July in all its red, white, and blue glory! We hope you will enjoy it and once you do, begin to look forward to August. The month that marks the end of summer and the harkening to Fall.

See you next month!
