Loving Look Back: David writes a screenplay!
As they say, ‘Tis the Season’… Which means all things Holiday; full of cheer, great food, great fun, and most of all, great sharing of love and gifts with family and friends. At least, that’s our hope! So, with this issue we will do our best to help with that gift giving just a little with some great articles, gorgeous women, and the sending out of wonderful feelings from all of us here at MECÉ to all of you out there.
Let’s start by sharing photographs by two of our attendees from our Arizona workshop just a couple months ago. As some of you may know, we did a 2-day workshop where the attendees could work with our Editor-in-Chief, David Mecey where he taught his methods on lighting, directing, and photographing women. With two of our MODELs in the Middle as their models!
They created some stirring images themselves so we felt they should be rewarded by publishing their work in an issue of MECÉ. So, to David and Jason, Merry Christmas gentlemen!
Following our two aspiring photographers is our newest contributor, @undercoverEater giving us his views on the New York & Miami-based restaurant, Il Mulino. Which as you might guess is probably on the list of many a foodie for their choice for holiday meals this month.
For those visiting Las Vegas and looking for a destination that’s vibrant, exciting, and with an edginess of cool, you should check out our story on the very special The English Hotel. Named after the award-winning chef, Todd English, you’ll not only enjoy all that the hotel offers its guests in service and style but be rewarded with meals in Todd English’s restaurant The Pepper Club.
Then we have something so very special for our readers. Our Q&A-7 interview goes far beyond our expectations this month due to the uniqueness of our celebrity guest. He’s been known around the world for hundreds of years, lives in one of the coldest places on earth, has a plethora of elves working for him and owns 8, make that 9, tiny reindeer that can fly! Yes, we’ve connected with the one and only, Santa Claus for our Q&A-7. He answers all those questions you’ve always wanted answered, and exclusively for MECÉ Magazine!
Appropriately enough, following Kris Kringle is our article about a train traveling through the snow in Colorado known as the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Snow Train. Yes, our contributor, Daphne Doettger not only rides the train but jumps off at various stops to do photographs. Catch all her pictures and story in, All Aboard, Photographers!
Now, who is the MODEL in the Middle to close out year 2023? She’s special, oh yes, as she should be. Heck, many say she’s the epitome of who Barbie should be! But we say she’s our December MITM, and her name is Summer Kristen. I mean, can it get any better than to have Summer in Winter?
Catch all her pictorial along with her centerfold right smack dab in the middle of our magazine. And oh boy, what a way to close out the year, because her name is not the only thing that keeps us warm…
As always, following Summer’s pictorial is David’s sharing how he did her photo shoot. With this one being a bit more taxing due to the size of the house where they were able to shoot. David shares what it took to pull it all off once more.
Finding the women for MECÉ has us looking far beyond what most think a men’s magazine desires. By that, we don’t only look for the young, ingenue model in her 20s. We also look for women who extol the virtues of looking fantastic all throughout their life and being proud of it. In our third pictorial we share photographs of a woman who is beyond the age of anyone who has graced the pages of MECÉ. Yet commands her pages with her age-defying look. We give you Petra.
Our UK editor, Mark Thomas continues to intrigue us with his knowledge of all things historical, especially emanating from his home country, England. But now he has stepped out of that role and is looking into the future by writing a short story. And from our first reading, a story concept worthy of consideration to one day appear on the big screen.
He takes us into another dystopian future, complete with all things sci-fi in Part 1 of his story, Vapor. Be watching the next two issues of MECÉ for Parts 2 & 3 as we know you’ll be hooked.
Speaking of the big screen, which involves writing a screenplay, David’s A Loving Look Back deals with just that. He tells us about how he could not keep a movie from running in his head until he finally sat down and put pen to paper to write it all down in the form of a movie script.
Another fascinating tale from David’s life that caused him, for about a month, to become a screen writer.
That’s our December. Next up, well, next year! Oh yeah, this is the end of 2023, we’re now looking at 2024 friends!
So, aside from our wishes for a Very, Merry Christmas, allow us to also add, may we all have a Glorious New Year!
